The babies are now about the length of a fig.
Here is what babycenter.com says about the babies at 11 weeks:
Your baby, just over 1 1/2 inches long and about the size of a fig, is now almost fully formed. Her hands will soon open and close into fists, tiny tooth buds are beginning to appear under her gums, and some of her bones are beginning to harden.
She's already busy kicking and stretching, and her tiny movements are so effortless they look like water ballet. These movements will become more frequent as her body grows and becomes more developed and functional. You won't feel your baby's acrobatics for another month or two — nor will you notice the hiccupping that may be happening now that her diaphragm is forming.
As for me... well I am feeling much better! I still have moments when the nausea and indigestion are bad, but for the most part, my days are good. I still get pretty exhausted at some point during the day. The busier the day= the more I need a nap. I am sleeping well at night (other than getting up 3x a night to pee).
At my appointment last week my OB put me on several vitamins and supplements. I am on folic acid, 2 calcium pills, and aspirin in the mornings, and an iron supplement and prenatal vitamin at night. I think it is the extra iron that makes me feel icky most of the time. Oh well, that is something I will just have to get used to because I will be on this pills (except for the aspirin, which I stop next week) for the entire pregnancy.
I am getting a little baby bump...I sent pictures to Misty. I will start taking my official belly pics in 2 weeks (13 weeks pregnant)- just in time for the second trimester!
Also, of the initial 4 lbs (maybe 5) that I lost, I have gained 2 of them back. So my official weight gain is -2 lbs. We're getting there! I just read today that most women only gain between 2-5 lbs the first trimester.
So, I guess that's it for now. We have an exciting ultrasound on September 1, but until then I will just focus on growing these two little figs!
Until next time...
