"Surro"stitions

So, in the WWS (otherwise known as the Wonderful World of Surrogacy- I don't know, I made this up, LOL) there are many, what I call, "surro"stitions.  I don't particularly believe in superstitions, but it is fun to play along.  We are told in our initiation into the WWS, that there are certain things that must be done on transfer day.  (This is all for lighthearted fun!)  We are told about green and yellow being the colors to promote fertility.  Now, what you choose to do with that information is totally up to you. 

As for me and Misty?  Well, we are going to live it up with the green and yellow!  We already have the green and yellow stash started.  We are going to each wear green and yellow silly bandz.  You know what those are, right?  Likely, if you have a child anywhere between the ages of 5-18 you know what silly bandz are.  They are little stretchy, rubbery, plastic, type bracelets that are cute little shapes.  They stretch out to fit on your wrist and when you take them off, they go back to their original shape.  There are hundreds of shapes available, but the shape we are wearing is a cheerleader.  Baelyn, Misty, and I each have yellow and green cheerleader shaped silly bandz to wear on transfer day.

Ours are solid yellow and green, but you get the point.




Also, we have some cute, funky, green fingernail polish.  And, yep, the three of us girls will give each other green mani/pedis the night before transfer. 


Don't worry...It's a much prettier green in person!



I also designed a cute t-shirt that Misty, Baelyn, Gayle (I need to introduce you all to Gayle very soon-she is very instrumental in all of this!),  and I will all wear the day of transfer.  It says "Think Positive" in rhinestones on the front and "Team Lively" on the back. Mark also has his man-version of this shirt to wear.

And, finally, the buttons.  I designed some buttons that say "Team Lively".  These will be worn by some of us at transfer also- Tony and Brayson don't have shirts...I guess they can have buttons.  :o)

Ok, so another thing that you learn in the WWS.... french fries!  McDonald's french fries to be exact.  I'm not quite sure where or how this "surro"stition originated, but who doesn't love greasy, salty, crispy Mickey D's french fries?  Well, I love them , so I will for sure play along with this one!  It is said that stopping by the golden arches and grabbing some fries some how gives you good luck for the transfer.  So, hey, who am I to argue?!?

Maybe it's because the arches are golden yellow!
