Appointments Set!

Well, we are trucking right along.  I am still on my Lupron injections and Misty has now started her Lupron injections.  Not sure if I ever explained what Lupron is used for, so I will mention it again.  *Please keep in mind that this is a very lay-man explanation of this drug.*  Lupron is a drug used to suppress the pituitary gland to prevent ovulation.  In other words, I use it to keep from ovulating (because it is IMPERATIVE that the resulting baby is NOT mine) and Misty uses it to suppress her ovulation so that her ovaries "store up" eggs.  Then Misty will take stimulation meds to stimulate her ovaries. And, when it is time, she takes her trigger injection of another medication, and she will have many, many eggs awaiting retrieval in her ovaries.  (Does that sound right, Misty?  LOL...I don't have to do this, so I am not very familiar with it all.)

Ok, so here is a run down of our upcoming appointments (Misty, let me know if I have something wrong!)

*Feb 2- Misty has an ultrasound to check suppression of her
               ovaries. She will then be scheduled for subsequent
               appointments.
*Feb 4- I have an appointment in Houston to check suppression
               of my ovaries and to check the lining of my uterus.
               (When it comes time for ET, I have to have a thick
               endometrial lining so that the embryo/s can implant.)
*Feb 5- Misty will start her stimulation meds (called stims).
*Feb 9- I return to Houston to again check ovaries and 
                 endometrial lining. Think thick!
*Feb 15- Misty's ER (egg retrieval) date.  Come on little eggies!
*Feb 20- I return to Houston for the Embryo Transfer and enjoy
                  my 2-3 days of bed rest and visits with Mark & Misty!


Misty and I are moving right along with our med calendars.  We have each completed some of our meds.  YIPEE!  That just means we are getting closer and closer to transfer! 

I am now on:

*Lupron injections- Daily
*BCPs- Daily  (DONE!)
*Doxycycline- 2x/Day   (DONE!)
*Prenatal vitamin- Daily


Misty is currently on:

*Lupron injections- Daily
*BCPs- Daily (DONE!)
*Lovenox injections- Daily
*Dexamethasone- Daily

New medications will be added to our regimen in the next few days.
