Babies at 23 weeks

Hello all.  I cannot believe we are already here.... 23 weeks!  (23 is my favorite number)

Everything is still going well.  The babies this week haven't gained much as far as in length, but they are gaining more weight (as am I!).

The babies this week weigh about the same as a large mango (just over a pound)...

This is what babycenter.com has to say:

Turn on the radio and sway to the music. With her sense of movement well developed by now, your baby can feel you dance. And now that she's more than 11 inches long and weighs just over a pound (about as much as a large mango), you may be able to see her squirm underneath your clothes. Blood vessels in her lungs are developing to prepare for breathing, and the sounds that your baby's increasingly keen ears pick up are preparing her for entry into the outside world. Loud noises that become familiar now — such as your dog barking or the roar of the vacuum cleaner — probably won't faze her when she hears them outside the womb.

So, I have been telling Misty for the last few days that I cannot believe how much these little M&Ms are moving now!  They are getting so active and so VERY strong.  It is very easy now to feel them kick from the outside.  In fact, now you can even see them kick (well, MJ, anyway.... Macy is too low and I can't see the bottom of my belly).  Just last night Brayson was sitting next to me on the couch with his cute little hand on my belly feeling MJ dance around.  Then, all of a sudden I felt a HUGE kick.  I asked Brayson if he felt it because it was a little lower than where he had his hand and he said "No, but I saw your tummy jump!".  He wasn't even looking directly at my stomach and he could see MJ kick from the corner of his eye!  It is so cool.

Misty.... I can't wait until the baby shower.  I hope these two are awake and dancing so you can feel them.  We may just have to crank up some music for them!

Speaking of music... last night I was messing around on the computer listening to some random music and I just know that both Macy Jane and MJ could hear it.  Every time I played it they would get really active and then every time I would turn it off, they would become still.  So playful already!

I am still feeling pretty good.  I won't lie, though..... getting around sometimes is just hard.  My body tires really quickly and getting out of certain positions wreaks havoc on my muscles.  But, I will take it!  That just means that the babies are growing and doing exactly as they should.  Oh, and I weighed myself this morning and I am up a total of 12 pounds.  :)

For some reason sleep is not so good anymore either.  I'm not sure what it is at this point.  Some nights are definitely better than others.  For instance, last night was a good night, but 3 nights ago... Oh Lord!  I woke up at 4:30 am for a trip to the bathroom (either the second or third... this is a normal occurrence) and immediately went back to bed and got really comfy, ready to doze off.  Well, MJ decided it was time to wake up.  So, he danced and did a little gymnastics and then soon told Macy to get up.  After just a few minutes, both babies were going crazy!  While it was very entertaining, it did not make for good sleep on my end.  These mini M&Ms stayed active, non-stop, from 4:30- 7:00 am.  I finally went back to sleep at 7 and slept good until my alarm went off at 8!  Get ready Mark and Misty!

Well, that's about it.  We have about a week and a half until the baby shower and I can't wait to see everyone!  I am definitely dreading the drive, but the destination is worth it!!!

Until next time, love from me and the twins!
