Negative.
After some time to grieve, vent, accept, and then finally, regroup, a decision has been made.
Misty returned to the RE's office this past Monday. After discussing our negative test result and our possible options, M&M have decided that....
We are trying again! Yay!
Surrogacy is chock full of so many ups and downs. We have already experienced this firsthand. After you get knocked down (as we just have), you have to pick yourself back up, dust yourself off, and then make the first of many decisions. Are we going to give up? Are we going to try again? What can we do differently? Do we need to do anything differently? Are we strong enough to give this another go 'round? And probably a whole slew of other questions. It is so hard not to blame yourself- both sides. Were the eggs good quality? Were the embryos good quality? Why did my body fail? What did I do wrong?
And, again, there is never anywhere to place the blame (as long as everyone followed their protocol- which, of course, we all did). Sometimes it just doesn't work and you just have to resign yourself to that fact. You just have to be ok with not knowing the answers to all the "whys".
So, here we are. At peace with the negative beta. Bummed, but at peace and accepting of that fact. I mean, what else can we do?
It takes a couple of cycles for mine and Misty's bodies to regulate and return to normal. So, as of now, we have no dates to share. But, we do know that we will be attempting another cycle and transfer in the next few months.
So, chin up Team Lively. Here we go AGAIN!!!

Hey Girl,
I know you get this, but hang in there. So glad they're trying again. Just because the science of it all says it should work, doesn't necessarily mean it's going to. I mean, if a couple was trying "the old fashioned way", no one would be giving up after one try and certainly not looking to place any blame. And science says that's supposed to work too. If it were free, you'd have no grief over trying again and again. (Not that you wouldn't grieve over a negative. I've been there too.) Hang in there Team Lively. It's not an exact science, and things are going to work out.
Love from the cheering section,
Christina
