Appointment Update

So Mark and Misty came down for our appointment Wednesday and things went great.  First we had our u/s appointment.  It looks like Macy is head-down (I have a little doubt about that simply because of the way she "feels" when she moves.  On the u/s it looked to me like she was headed that direction, but not yet completely there... of course, I'm no professional!).  Both babies were absolutely precious and their stats at 29w1d were....

Macy: HR 155, measuring 29w6d, 3lbs 3oz
MJ: HR 152, measuring 30w3d, 3lbs 4oz

Looks like we have some great sized babies growing in here!  We got a few glimpses of their adorable faces...

Next we headed to my OB's side of the building for my check up.  I am doing great with my weight (21-22 lbs total).  My BP was great!  I have had quite a bit of swelling in my ankles and feet since Christmas but as long as I am not having any other symptoms it just comes with the territory.  I did mention to her about my carpal tunnel and she ended up referring me to a physical medicine doctor to get some injections in my hand/s.  That appointment is scheduled for Jan 3.  Can't wait!  I am hoping and praying that I get some relief from this awful symptom.  Good news though... I got some great sleep last night and only woke up to use the bathroom a few times.  My hands didn't wake me until sometime after 8 am.  Yay!

After my OB appointment, the three (or should I say 5?) of us headed next door to the hospital.  Mark and Misty got to see where their 2 mini m&ms will be delivered.  I will labor for a short time in a labor and delivery room.  However, once it is time to actually deliver the babies, because I am carrying twins, I will have to deliver in an OR room.  This is simply just in case Macy is delivered vaginally and then they end up having to deliver MJ by c-section.  This is protocol for EVERY twin or multiple pregnancy.  We are really, really praying for a vaginal delivery because if we end up needing a c-section only one person can be in the room during delivery.  :(

We got lots of great information during our hospital visit along with a long list of things we still need to do before delivery.  Misty has some documentation that she needs to turn in, questions to ask pediatricians, etc.  I have to get myself pre-registered and give more information to our liaison so they can make the best birth experience for all of us (and our unique situation).  Lots to do and not much time left!  I can't believe we are so close!

After the hospital visit, we all met up with Tony and the kids for a (late) lunch.  We always have such a great time together.  Both of my kids just love Mark and Misty both!  We hated saying goodbye.  It absolutely blows my mind that the next time we will be seeing them is at the birth of their babies!  Ahhhhh!!!!

Well, my hand is killing me and my fingers are now numb so I better close this up.

Until next time....
