I may need an intervention....

......I have a small obsession.

But, I will get to that later.  First, other news.

So, for about 5 days now M&M and I have had a little secret.  Possibly two little secrets.

I AM PREGNANT!!!!

On July 2, Misty broke down and asked me to take a HPT.  We were 6dp5dt at that time and I was already experiencing several symptoms.  After talking to her about it, she sent me a text that simply said.... "Go pee"

So, I did.

And, this is where my obsession comes into play.  I am slightly addicted to POAS.  "Peeing On A Stick."  It is so incredibly awesome to watch those double lines pop up and tell you that you are pregnant.  It's almost like you have a magical power.  Hee hee!

Anyway.

After Misty sent me that text, I immediately went and took 2 tests, one "internet cheapie" that shows 2 lines if you're pregnant, and one digital that pops up with the word "Pregnant" if it's positive.  After about 3 minutes, I snapped a picture with my cell phone and sent Misty a text with a picture, while I continued to talk to her from my home phone.  Thankfully I was able to hear her reaction when she saw this........

CAN YOU BELIEVE IT!  OMG, OMG, OMG!!!!  MARK AND MISTY ARE GOING TO BE PARENTS!

So, here I am.  Officially 4w2d (4 weeks, 2 days) pregnant.  I went in on July 5 for our first official beta.  The "average" beta for this day is 95.  Mine was 234!  Could it be twins?!?!?  OMG!  So, then 2 days later (today) I went in for my repeat beta.  The "average" for this day is 292.  Mine is 546!

Seriously.

Could it?  Could it be twins?  Well, in 12 days we may know, because in 12 days I go in for my first ultrasound.  I will be exactly 6 weeks along at that point.  We are hoping to see a heartbeat..... or 2!!!

So, for now we wait.  Again.  We wait and take it one step at a time.  First, we needed a positive HPT.  Check!  Next, we needed a great first beta.  Check!  Then, we needed a great second beta.  Check!  Now, we need a heartbeat or 2.  So, we wait.  We wait and pray.  Pray hard.  And wait.....impatiently!  :)

So...my obsession?  Need proof?

"Hello.  My name is Courtney and I am a POASaholic."

Just so none of you think I am supporting my addiction at the expense of feeding my children (LOL), most of these tests were given to me by fellow surrogates.  For the most part, most of us are POASaholics and may have a surplus after we exit the 2ww, and are willing to share.  Plus, I am pretty savvy when it comes to finding coupons, mail-in rebates, and BOGO offers.  So, total, I spent about $15 for probably over $100 worth of tests.  Go me!  :)

Official due date for this mini M&M is March 13, 2012.  However, if there are two little ones snuggled in, they would likely come a few weeks early.

YAY!
